One way to discourage spiders from invading your basement is to spray the walls and ceilings with bleach. This is an effective way to repel them without using chemicals.

Vacuum your carpet often if you are having a flea problem. Fleas will begin to live in your carpet if there is not enough room for them on your pets. To help to keep their population low you should vacuum your floors a couple times a day and dispose of the bag immediately.

If you want to reduce the amount of spiders in your home, make sure that you clean the clutter around your house such as piles of books or newspapers. Spiders are attracted to these things and may make webs around them so the best thing you can do is eliminate them in the first place.

Bee’s stings are painful, and can even be fatal for some people. Make sure bees do not build a nest on or near your home. If you notice bees near your home, check to make sure they are not building a nest. Wasp spray can be used from a distance to kill the bees before you remove the nest.

If you vacuum up the ants in your home, make sure you sprinkle a little corn starch on them before you do so. This will cause them to die inside the vacuum bag and will ensure that you don’t have a problem at a later date. Alternatively, simply use soap and water to take care of the problem.

Boric acid can eradicate a whole colony of silverfish if used right! Place a small measured amount of household cleaner containing boric acid into hard to reach places. Silverfish will usually feel attracted to the acid and carry it back to their nests. This is said to have killed colonies of silverfish in a short amount of time.

If you wish to reduce pests, then you need to reduce your home’s clutter. Most families have a table or bookshelf that is used as a catch-all for mail, magazines and more. Get rid of clutter and eliminate as many places as possible where pests can live.

If there are cockroaches in your home, you need to take action immediately. Clean your home with some strong soap and get some garlic, boric acid and catnip. Place these things in your cupboards, under your sink and in your bathroom. Keep your food in airtight containers and clean your fridge entirely.

If you’ve got a problem with bugs in your home, consider all the possible ways you could be providing them with nourishment or water. Roaches, for instance, can suck the water right out of a dish rag or face cloth left in the laundry bin! They can also feed from plants and drink from an aquarium.
