How To Join Blogging Community
By now you should at least have heard of or have been influenced by Blogs. You can contribute to the world of blogging in just a few minutes. Search Engines love blogs and if you know what search engines love; then by giving them what they want, your websites are likely to rank higher.
Blogs are simply Internet based journals. There are many hosting sites support blogs, with one of the most popular places to start is at Blogger dot com.
Blogger has an extremely high page rank, which means create a blog by using their service; your blog will likely be quicker indexed by Google, Yahoo, MSN, or other search engines. Another advantage is that you don’t need to worry about the hosting; they will do it for you.
But one disadvantage that I have seen is Blogger dot com may delete your blog without notice and without give reasons. This means if you are making $ 100/day from your blog that hosted at Blogger dot com, which has been removed, and then your time put forth to promoting that blog is finished. Blogger lacks the ability to view your web statistics.
To join Blogger, just follow the following steps:
1. Enter blogger dot com website in your browser.
2. Click on that big orange arrow labeled “Create your Blog Now”.
The first step you will see on the screen is to create an account. You need to select a user name and password that you will be using to access your blogger account.
It is better to make the password interesting; by doing it, you can include some numbers and mixes the case.
At the same time, you need to think of a display name that will be use to sign all of your posts as well. This name can reflect your blog type, so it should have some consideration toward to creative. Just don’t give your blog display name something like JyxlWz4, which is more like a password rather than a display name.
You also need to provide a real email address. Some people will create a blogger email account especially for this.
3. After you done this above, check the box that says you accept the terms of service then click on continue to go to the next step.
This is where you will give your blog a name. Example, Tips for Golfers – if your blog is golf related; or, Healthy Explorer – if it is about sell health products. Just create a simple name that people can easily remember. But what you call it is completely up to you.
Here is the hard part – picking the URL address that people will use to access your blog.
Actually it can be anything you like as long as it is not already being used by other people. To have an easy remember URL to let people find your blog, you need to be patient in this process because there are thousands of blogs, and some name may already be in use. It may take you a while to find something that has not been taken.
At this point you also need to type in the word that you have been shown to confirm your selections and to block automated blog creation. Then click continue to move to the next screen.
Good, you are almost finished registration process.
Now all you need to do is to select one template style from Blogger templates providers. There are 12 of them, you can choose one that match with your taste and click on the radio button, after you finished this, click on the continue arrow. You will see there a brief pause while your Blog is set up, and then you are ready to go.
Okay, now you can click on start posting, you will see there are some other tabs for modifications on the posting screen. The settings tab will allow you to make some changes range from your blog title, some access settings and the deletion of your blog.
In this section, you also can restrict comments; create teams and do lots of other stuff. You can change the color of your navigation bar, use HTML and style sheet knowledge to modify every part of your blog’s appearance by click on the Template tab. But if you are not very familiar with those, better not to play too much in this area otherwise you may messed up your blog.
If you want the view blog tab work, you have to create your first blog first. Therefore you need to go back to the posting tab and enter your blog title and then create some text, add in some links and even some pictures. Then click on preview to check what the final result will look like. If you happy with the display, then you can click on publish, if not, you can modify and edit your post and until you are ready, then publish. After done this, now try the view blog tab and there it is your first blog.
Wait, it is not finishing yet. You set up your blog and published your first post, then what? Yes, you need to think of something new to post on a regular basis as well as promote it to let everyone knows about your blog’s URL in order to generate traffic and build the awareness. Otherwise how can people find you?
Speaking of traffic, if your blog becomes popular, people will like to visit your blog and recommend your blog’s URL to their friends. Some of them may like to post some comments to your blog, so be prepared for your first comment, it can range from a poor to well crafted flame from someone called anonymous.
So that’s it – welcome to the wonderful world of blogging.
