Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certifications are industry recognized certifications demonstrating one's tech proficiency to an employer or prospective college.  MOS certifications validate ones tech knowledge in a Microsoft Office application.  MTA certifications are for tech professionals with tracks in software development, databases (data platform administration and business intelligence), and IT infrastructure (desktop and server infrastructure and private cloud computing).  For a limited time, The Seattle Public Library is partnering with Washington State Library to offer the MOS and MTA exams free of charge – a value of more than 5 per exam. Certification exams are available for: Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS): Access 2013 Excel 2013 Excel Expert 2013, part 1 Excel Expert 2013, part 2 OneNote 2013 Outlook 2013 PowerPoint 2013 SharePoint Word 2013 Word Expert 2013, part 1 Word Expert 2013, part 2 Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA): Cloud Fundamentals Database Fundamentals HTML5 App Development Fundamentals Mobility and Device Fundamentals Networking Fundamentals Security Fundamentals Software Development Fundamentals (C#) Software Development Fundamentals (VB) Windows Operating System Fundamentals Windows Server Administration Fundamentals When registering for an exam, select only ONE registration per time slot.  To register for certification exams on different dates at The Seattle Public Library click here.     Are you prepared to pass? To ensure you have the best chance of passing your certification exam, please review any of the MOS and MTA study materials: Preview the MOS interface for a sample exam Take a practice test using GMetrix software at the Central Library (drop in to Level 5 or call 206-386-4636 to reserve a MOS practice computer) Review a MOS Study Guide books available for checkout (available for free with your Library card for Access, Excel, Excel Expert, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Word Expert); digital versions of the Study Guides and practice files are also available upon request Take a Microsoft Imagine Academy class online (available for free with your Library card) Take a Lynda.com class online online (available for free with your Library card) Drop in for an intermediate Word or Excel class at The Seattle Public Library Sign up for 1-on-1 Tech Help with a Seattle Public Library staff member to review one of the competencies in the Excel or Word Self Assessments If you are unable to attend any of the sessions at The Seattle Public Library, please consider other sessions offered by the Washington State Library.
