The bigger the team, the harder it is to monitor the safety of each truck. The Qualcomm Mobile Computing Platform [MCP] is a low-cost solution to this problem. You can ensure your fleet's CSA compliance, reduce operating costs, and monitor your driver's behavior while adhering to the Qualcomm MCP50 pricing for your company. The MCP50 provides useful applications such as service time, vehicle inspection reports, in-cabin navigation, near real-time performance monitoring and critical event reporting. You also get two-way automatic messaging, allowing you to contact each driver immediately.

The Qualcomm MCP50 is fast to install and the 7-inch touch screen is easy to interact with. With two-way automatic messaging, drivers can receive critical information in a confidential manner and respond when appropriate. When the vehicle is in motion, the driver will receive an audible alarm indicating that they have a new message. With the click of a button, the driver can listen to the message while continuing to drive safely. If the truck stops, the driver can read the message and respond via the virtual keyboard. The MCP50 also allows your company's pre-formatted messages to allow the driver to make minimal typing when replying.

Some applications require a driver login. This can be done from the main screen or by the team driver. Once logged in, the driver can set its state to On Duty. If the driver plans to change its status, the Qualcomm MCP50 will automatically set the driver's status to On Duty as soon as the vehicle is driving. Then create a log to help ensure that all drivers adhere to DOT regulations. By clicking on the "Service Hours" button, the driver can view the remaining hours. Sound and visual alerts will also be notified when they are about to end to avoid violations. You can view and print the logs as needed.

FMCSA-compliant vehicle inspection reports are date and time stamps, including driver and vehicle data. The driver is also prompted to sign each report with its name and truck number. The MCP50 also prompts for a trailer inspection that is completed the same as the vehicle inspection. If the vehicle inspection report has not been completed within the last 24 hours, the system will alert the driver to complete the inspection when the truck is started. All inspection information collected can be imported into your maintenance software.

In-cab navigation provides an optional 2D or 3D map with precise truck approved turn directions. Each route can be customized to route preferences and vehicle specifications. If the vehicle deviates from the route, they will immediately reroute back to the original route. The driver will be able to view important POIs, such as gas stations and weighing stations, and will also be aware of any potential hazards along the way. Background integration allows the docking list to be sent to the driver. These orders will be automatically ordered to create the most fuel-efficient route.

The Qualcomm MCP50 monitors driving behavior in near real time with vehicle sensors. The Performance Monitoring screen allows the driver to view the collected information and send all grouping information directly to the company. Performance data collected includes engine speed, excessive idle time, top speed and cruising time. The sensor captures data on breaks, stability control, lane departures and forward collision warnings and reports them to the dispatch and safety department. The driver can manually trigger critical events if necessary. The predetermined threshold can be kept set to automatically trigger key events.

The Qualcomm Service Portal provides all the information collected in near real time. With the MCP50, you can monitor your fleet and know that each truck is located 24-7. Perfusion can be done easily with the Qualcomm MCP50 manual. Communication with the driver is fast and safe and does not violate any conversation or text ban. The driver's hours and safe driving habits are easy to monitor to ensure safety. FMCSA's compliance is made easier by checking the alarms on vehicles and trailers. In-cab navigation also helps increase productivity while reducing fuel costs. Regardless of size, the Qualcomm MCP50 allows you to be the driver of your fleet.
