Secrets To Creating Compelling Blog Content

When people decide to publish blogs they invariably have two things in common with other bloggers, namely, they want to have people read the content of their blog, and they want to ensure that those people will return to their blog often. Having plenty of visits to your blog is the only sure way of creating an income from it. But if those visitors fail to click on the AdSense link on your blog no income will be generated, because that is how it works. Irrespective of what you write about, those two objectives apply.

Unfortunately every blogger has this problem so you are not alone. Once you have set it all up and placed the AdSense link in the best place to invite clicks, you are now faced with that white text box and trying to decide what to write in it. We have all had to deal with writer’s block at some time. Although you know you are quite capable of composing a few paragraphs, when it comes down to doing it on your blog, you may find that you keep drawing a blank. And then, as if writer’s block isn’t enough, you might start to wonder why anyone would be interested in what you have to say in the first place! But there are tools available that will help you to come up with ideas of what to write about.

Although ad placement on your blog is important it is actually the easy part when you start your own blog. The difficulty comes in when you try to decide what your blog should actually pertain to. The reason for this is because you will need to write about it daily, so it needs to be both interesting and relevant in order to keep your visitors returning for more. If there are no visitors to your blog it cannot create an income.

Of course you can choose to write about absolutely anything you want, however knowing that really does not help you to decide what you want to write about at all. The possibilities are endless and can even be overwhelming. It is like telling a child in a toy shop to pick any toy they want! How must they decide, faced with such a large and varied selection to choose from, just what they want? And so you find yourself in a similar situation.

Your blog can either be a blog that does not earn you any money, or it can be one that does. So the first decision you need to make is to decide which is best suited to you. If you choose the one that does not earn you money then all you need to do is provide the link to your blog to the people in your life, such as friends and family. You will merely need to post updates every now and again but other than that there is not much more you need to do. If, on the other hand, you want to write a blog that will bring the cash in, you need to know and understand just how search engines and AdSense work. This might also assist you in deciding what your blog would be about.

If generating an income from your blog is the way you want to go then you need to do whatever you can to ensure that as many people as possible will visit your blog. One of the ways to accomplish this is to make certain that whatever you have decided to write about will direct visitors to your blog by way of the search engines. As you can see, knowing and understanding something of how search engine optimization will assist you in directing traffic to your blog is important. The same can be said about AdSense as well. Your AdSense ads need to be clicked on by your visitors and so placement of them is also of equal importance. Understanding how AdSense and Search Engine Optimization works will help you in deciding what your blog is to be about but we will go more in-depth about this in later chapters of this e-book
