Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic, Film Screening and Speakers Panel
Case Western Medical, Nursing, and health career focused students are invited to attend the Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic film screening on Friday, September 8th from 2pm-4pm at the Wolstein Auditorium.  Narrated by Vanessa Williams, this poignant documentary takes a look into the lives of five women affected by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), the virus that causes several types of cancer. Their intimate stories shed light on the risks, myths, problems, politics, misconceptions and hard truths of the widespread epidemic.  The film will be immediately followed by a speakers panel of medical professionals who will hold a question and answer session. Refreshments will be provided.  As of 2015, approximately 79 million Americans are currently infected with HPV and 14 million people become newly infected each year. Come and learn about HPV-associated cancer and HPV vaccines to protect males and females against diseases, including cancer caused by HPV.
