The PS4 and Xbox are the two most popular consoles in the world. Because of their popularity, many people don't know the console they should go to. Below is a comparison of the main specifications that will help you make the right decisions.

GPU

The Xbox One and PS4 GPUs are technically very similar; however, the PS4 GPU is a bit large. According to the creators, the Xbox GPU is similar to the Bonaire GPU in the Radeon HD 7790. On the other hand, the PS4 GPU is similar to that in the HD 7870.

The creators of the PS4 GPU say the GPU is nearly 50% more powerful than the Xbox. This means that the game will have enough graphics available. Although this is the case, the Xbox One's GPU unlock speed is slightly higher.

In addition to these differences, the two GPUs are identical because they are all based on the Graphics Core Next Generation [GCN] architecture because they have the ability to support OpenGL 4.3, Direct3D 11.2 and OpenCL 1.2.

RAM

Both consoles have 8GB of RAM. The PS4 has 5500MHz RAM, while the Xbox uses 2133MHz DDR3 RAM. The PS4 uses this type of RAM to bring bandwidth advantages to the console. For example, the PS4's CPU and GPU will have 176GB / sec of bandwidth to system RAM, while the Xbox is only 68.3GB / sec.

CPU

Like the GPU, both consoles have similar CPUs. Although the CPUs are basically the same, they have many differences. For example, the PS4 CPU has a clock speed of 1.6 GHz, while the Xbox has a clock speed of 1.75 GHz. Because Xbox has more space, it is expected to be faster.

Setting up the console

Setting up the PS4 is easy because you don't have to go through the trouble of installing a power brick; just plug the power cord from the PS4 into the wall and connect HDMI to the TV. The good news is that the PS4 is easily recognized by many TVs; therefore, you don't have to fiddle with the settings.

It is also easy to set up the Xbox one; however, you must handle the power bricks that need to be placed in a well ventilated area to prevent overheating. Power bricks also give the Xbox console an ugly look.

in conclusion

These are the main differences between PS4 and Xbox. Which is the best game console for you?
